Sample 4–5 Night Itinerary β€” Koh Lipe

Koh Lipe Family Guide

  • Day 1 Β· Arrive & exhale: Fly Phuket β†’ Hat Yai, overnight near the pier route. Rest up β€” don't plan anything for Hat Yai itself.
  • Day 2 Β· Cross over: Early private van to Pak Bara pier, speedboat across to Koh Lipe. Settle into the villa, swim, find your feet in town.
  • Day 3 Β· Reef day: Snorkel straight from the villa, take the clear kayaks out over the water. Slow lunch, long swim.
  • Day 4 Β· Town & spa: Walk into town at your own pace, browse and eat, then a spa afternoon while the kids rest or swim.
  • Day 5 Β· One more swim, then home: Final morning on the water before the boat back. Reverse the route β€” seasickness patches on an hour ahead.
Getting There

Fly to Hat Yai, overnight, then private van to Pak Bara pier and speedboat across. Put seasickness patches on an hour before boarding β€” by the time you feel it, it's too late. Pack real snacks for the pier; there isn't much there for kids.

Sample 7-Day Itinerary β€” Portugal

Portugal Family Adventure

  • Days 1–2 Β· Lisbon: Explore Alfama by tram, visit the Oceanarium (one of Europe's best), and eat pastΓ©is de nata by the dozen.
  • Day 3 Β· Sintra: Morning at Pena Palace β€” the colourful fairy-tale castle feels designed for children. Book tickets in advance.
  • Days 4–5 Β· Algarve Coast: Drive south to golden sea-cave beaches. Praia da Marinha and Praia de Benagil are spectacular for older kids.
  • Day 6 Β· Porto: Blue tile azulejo churches, riverside Ribeira district, and the best bookshop in the world β€” Livraria Lello.
  • Day 7 Β· Douro Valley: Scenic train ride through vineyard valleys. Kids love the winding river and stop-off picnic spots.
Getting Around

Portugal has excellent intercity trains and is very walkable. Rent a car only for the Algarve and Douro Valley legs β€” otherwise public transit is stress-free and gives kids a real local experience.
