Portugal Family Adventure

  • Days 1–2 · Lisbon: Explore Alfama by tram, visit the Oceanarium (one of Europe's best), and eat pastéis de nata by the dozen.
  • Day 3 · Sintra: Morning at Pena Palace — the colourful fairy-tale castle feels designed for children. Book tickets in advance.
  • Days 4–5 · Algarve Coast: Drive south to golden sea-cave beaches. Praia da Marinha and Praia de Benagil are spectacular for older kids.

Getting Around

Portugal has excellent intercity trains and is very walkable. Rent a car only for the Algarve and Douro Valley legs — otherwise public transit is stress-free and gives kids a real local experience.
